About
Expertise
Erica Gettenberg, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist in Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. In her private practice, she sees adults and adolescents ages 14 and older, offering individualized psychiatric care.
Dr. Gettenberg offers something increasingly rare in contemporary mental health care: she provides both psychiatry and psychotherapy herself, rather than limiting her role to brief medication visits.
As a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, she is able to conduct thorough evaluations, guide medication decisions when appropriate, and also offer ongoing psychotherapy. This combination allows patients to build a consistent relationship with one clinician who understands the full picture of their symptoms, history, and life context, and can integrate therapy and medication management into a single, thoughtful treatment plan.
Medical Director
In addition to her private practice in Connecticut and New York, Dr. Gettenberg serves as the Medical Director of Rappore, a telehealth psychiatry and therapy practice based in Manhattan.
Specialties
Dr. Gettenberg works with patients navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, insomnia, relationship concerns, perimenopause, medication management, and other emotional challenges, with consideration for how these concerns affect patients at different stages of life.
She has particular expertise in supporting adolescents, young adults, and families during times of transition. Her work includes helping patients manage the move from high school to college, the social and academic demands of college life, early adult development, and family or relationship stress, as well as broader questions of identity, independence, and emotional well-being.
